A little bit about Karen Wright

I am a fully qualified science teacher with a PGCE in Biology with Sciences from the Swansea Metropolitan University. My first degree is in Zoology from Bangor University and I also have a post graduate qualification in Medical Microbiology.

I have a great deal of work experience in the scientific field having worked as a Microbiologist and also an Analytical Chemist in private and public sector companies.

At this moment in time I am working part time in a private school in Swansea and also undertake supply teaching in many of the schools in the Bridgend area.

Teaching and learning

I believe that students learn well in a comfortable and encouraging environment with a tutor they can trust and who understands their requirements. Every student will have a unique learning style and it is important that educational materials are adapted for this style. I use a wide range of resources alongside my personal teaching including text books, interactive media and mind mapping to improve understanding.

Educational materials

My students benefit from a full set of comprehensive notes to accompany their tutoring topics and also access to books and online revision guides. I can also provide exam past papers with mark schemes (AQA, WJEC, OCR exam boards).
